Edge Of Time

Edge Of Time

Driving down the freeway as the sun sets slow
across into the outskirts of town
I can't see where I'm going but my foot stays steady
I may be blinded but I won't slow down

The tires tearing down the road are running low
and my mind and heart are getting sore
But when night turns to day they won't see me this way
'cause I'll find what I'm looking for

Oh I believe that there's something there
a light at the end of the line
so I'll carry on until my final destination
a darkness on the edge of time

I don't know if I'm fighting for the good or bad
the pouring rain has blurred my view
but the hope that lies within my heart is burning red
I'm hoping it'll get through to you

The narrow road that lies ahead is closing fast
I'm soon going to pass you by
but before I go there's something you should know
My love for you will never die

Oh I believe that there's something there
a light at the end of the line
so I'll carry on until my final destination
a darkness on the edge of time

the burning red is interesting. its interesting because of it's relationship to stop signs and traffic lights. considering so much of this poem is about 'driving' might be worth some time exploring.
cool stuff though. reminds me of dark city or the 13th floor.
